Ben Gothorp

Ben studied biology at the University of Leeds, graduating in 2015. He went on to join Simpsons Malt in 2016 as the Technical Officer for the agricultural merchanting side of the business McCreath Simpson & Prentice. The role involved him in all aspects of practical agronomy and on-farm advice which led to working alongside farming customers to maximise yield whilst only applying inputs where justified, ultimately working to reduce the carbon footprint of the resulting crop.
In May 2021 Ben became Sustainability Manager for Simpsons Malt which sees him managing the delivery of the organisation’s sustainability strategy, working alongside functional managers to devise and deliver agreed strategy implementation plans and develop relationships with key sustainability stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
